We recently at the time of writing this heard the voice of the Shofar (posting this just after Pesach - End of April 2022 during the Sefirah days). These sound our resonance of the cry of the soul. We experience a new light entering the world yearly through those Shofar blasts. The key is to understand that we share this power of renewal and connection through crying out from our inner voice. Prayer is definitely misunderstood and underestimated in its power to generate everything we need. People are slowly awakening to mindfulness and meditation. However, prayer is generally not publicly acknowledged. After years of studying by some of the holiest people on earth, I was witness to the power of prayer daily. The generation of light, clarity and all kinds of physical blessings all from a person sincerely praying. The daily struggle and fight to succeed with our standard prayers done sincerely contain deep secrets of Unification. The goal is to bring this light of prayer and United souls, once again as our book title expresses, into our daily life.
Personal prayer is tremendously underestimated and being in the presence, traveling, and touring in the past with Rav Shalom Arush around North America yearly and online Tours in the Studio together has given me first-hand experience of how much we can accomplish through personal prayer. Our whole foundation of belief and intrinsic soul connection we call Emuna is built through personal prayer. To bring this power of spiritualization into our eating, drinking, sleeping, daily tasks and commandment observance all comes together with the unification of a blessing set out with the power to spiritualize everything we do. This needs a combination of discipline and intentional living in all we do. To eat with a clarity of the correct blessings, the amount needed to be eaten, time of eating, exactly what nutrition is being eaten, and how to properly express our appreciation for the spiritual and physical sustenance gained from the food. To make a Lechaim over a drink wishing another person life, blessing them with unification and physical abundance. To turn drinking into an experience of uplifting and nourishing life, not drunkenness and gluttony. To see the emotional bond we create through our mealtimes with our family and friends. To create festive style energy of how the meal proceeds, discussing growth mindset tools, insights from life and opportunities for families to talk out important real daily struggles in life. The prayer at the beginning and end of mealtime elevates the whole experience that food and drink go towards their root level.
As explained before on the root level everything in creation is from a spiritual source. We experience the world was created by our Creator speaking Creation into reality constantly through the holy language of Hebrew. All the letters from the root level of all of creation and therefore by making blessings we have keys to open up the root level spiritual within the physically clothed energy within. On a daily level we struggle to apply this spiritual reality to our physical experiences. Another example is sleeping with the soul. We mentioned previously that nightly we return a portion of our soul and prepare for a renewed new portion of our soul. There are special prayers of bedtime which tune us to the transitional nature of the soul being returned to the spiritual realms and yet fight the soul flow so that we don’t get overly pulled into physicality before going into a sleep state.
Our work schedule also needs guidance and determination to keep it balanced and soulful. We all need to know what is the honest way to make a living and yet at the same time have the humility to know that our success is a gift from Creation while deserving prayers of thanks afterward. The weekly disconnect to reconnect with Shabbat is the ultimate solution in how we spiritualize the 6 days preceding and 6 days approaching. This allows us to spiritualize time and gives us the intentional moments to reflect on the partnership we share in Creation and oneness in our resting. The climax is observing the commandments that bind us with this oneness.
This is the inner truth of all religious practices, that without binding ourselves to the unified flow we are just doing hollow practices. The inner intention of the Soul needs to be awakened with crying and prayer to give us the power to spiritualize everything, even spiritual practices. It's a long-term plan to live on the path of United Souls!
