We all are faced with Choices daily and some are bigger than others. Our goal together is to reach the level of the soul. What’s been a challenge in our 2020 vision, is the power to choose. For some people it’s whom to marry, for some how to marry during a Corona Challenge, whom to invite, how to fly abroad or bring family from abroad, whether to wear a mask, use hand sanitizer, to do social or physically distancing, to listen to the lockdown rules, to get tested hopefully being a negative result, as, in the end, all these choices are still small in the grand picture of things. We are souls as mentioned previously with a purpose, the rules of the WHO or any other government body are to be respected, but your real intention is to attach yourself to a more meaningful life. Where we focus in times of challenges on the bigger choices. These might be with seemingly smaller actions and sensitivities. However, the truth of life is finding the bigger United light within every choice and deed. Life is a gift and every moment is eternal! Choosing to live with greater awareness is the key to happiness. And on a deeper level, this choice is moment by moment. And the moments are many and the choice is big. The key is the United path we walk will ultimately choose us, and that day is something worth praying for and looking forward to.
The time to Disconnect to Reconnect (Tishrei is the 7th Month/a Shabbat Focus)
Thanks to the technological revolution the Sabbath aka Shabbat has never been as relevant and needed for the world as now. The ability to disconnect from technology is even more important with the intentionally addictive nature of these technological creations. We require all the space in our hearts and minds to connect to the soul level. In order to reach such a level, we at least need to initially disconnect from the barrage of information technology creates. However, why ignore the most ancient and best advice aka commandment, to disconnect to reconnect - Guard and Remember the Sabbath aka Shabbat. From sunset Friday to sunset Saturday night we get to experience a full 25 hours of the Soul. And this soul day is weekly and it means no online access at all, not even landlines or television. Pure absorption for the purpose of the 6 days before and 6 days after. This is entering the building weekly we work so hard to build. It’s like building a 6-directional building or home with walls, ground floor, and roof, while only entering on the 7th day. This is the purpose of the Creation to give meaning and the inner dimension to all we encounter i.e. the Root level of everything.
To enjoy the delights of this world and to elevate all our Creations. To bring joy and fulfillment to life through a day of enjoyment and connection weekly. To taste freedom from the pressures of work and enter the world of the soul, even if only a taste. Many experience this special weekly day with the family, in prayer, in song, in meditation, in learning, in love, and in delight. A famous Rabbi once sang he couldn’t imagine a world without the weekly song of the Shabbat, how we could get drunk on the pleasure of such a special day, and he would continue to sing how the whole of Creation makes space for the Song of Shabbos. Imagine that all these 6000 years of Creation are making space for the Ultimate Song of Shabbos. A millennium of Shabbat, where we are all truly connected as United Souls. A time we pray for, prepare for, and look forward to weekly, yearly, and eternally, to disconnect to truly reconnect.
